Why did I became a Doula, and why work with me…
Why I Became a Doula: My Journey and Passion for Birth Support
I loved giving birth. The unknown, the adrenaline, the power—it was exhilarating. The flood of oxytocin, meeting my baby, and sharing the moment with my partner and midwife made it unforgettable. I felt connected to generations of women yet uniquely special. Birth was a transcendent experience for me, one I now understand is rare.
As I listened to friends’ birth stories, I realized how fortunate I was to have had such a positive experience. Perhaps, I thought, I was simply a birth enthusiast—someone meant to live and relive the magic of birth. This realization led me to pursue doula training. It wasn’t just a decision; it felt like a calling.
My First Doula Experience
Supporting Leonie during her home birth confirmed that this path was right for me. Before the birth, we built a deep connection through home visits, long conversations about her hopes and fears, and even spontaneous support during a stressful CTG appointment. I helped organize her Blessing Way, creating a circle of love and empowerment with her closest friends. By the time labor began, we were deeply in tune.
Leonie’s strength during her home birth was inspiring—like an athlete focused and determined. The midwives were incredible, and together we formed a supportive, harmonious team. I made sure everyone felt cared for, from bringing food and drinks to offering massages and emotional reassurance. This freed her husband to focus on Leonie completely, knowing I was there to support them both.
After the birth, Leonie and I revisited every detail of her experience. I shared the moments she missed in her labor trance—her husband’s expressions, the excitement in the room, and how beautifully she handled the process. Being a witness to her journey deepened her connection to the experience, grounding it in reality.
Why People Choose Me
Leonie found me through friends, but why she continued working with me goes beyond chance. My role as a doula is to reassure, support, and empower. I help my clients trust their instincts and navigate the pregnancy haze with clarity. I provide physical comfort—massages, movement, nourishment—but also emotional grounding. Ultimately, I create a space where they feel safe and confident in their choices.
Doula work is deeply personal. It’s about connection and trust. Hiring a doula is a bit like dating—you need to feel a human fit. While I come with an open heart ready to adapt to each family’s unique needs, I’m still a person, and the relationship we build is key. It’s a mix of professional support and sisterhood.
My Mission as a Doula
My goal is to empower you to embrace your own strength and intuition. I want you to feel like you’ve always had the power to navigate birth and motherhood. Along the way, I pamper you with care—massages, nourishing food, heartfelt conversations, and ceremonies that celebrate your journey.
